The Instructor of the Year 2023 nomination process has started at SilverSneakers

The SilverSneakers Instructor Award for the Year Awards 2023 are now accepting nominations, according to SilverSneakers, the country’s highest community exercise program for seniors. The Award, which recognizes SilverSneakers training instructors who inspire and motivate their students to maintain an active lifestyle, foster a sense of community, and offer chances for essential social interaction, is celebrating its seventh anniversary this year.

President & CEO of Tivity Health, Richard Ashworth said, “The award is a thrilling way to recognize our exceptional instructors who directly affect the lives of participants every day. “I admire our teachers’ commitment to promoting older adults’ physical and mental activity for better overall well-being as well as the sense of community they foster in their classes. I’m proud to see the connections our instructors establish with our participants and the outstanding job each of them completes on a daily basis. Our instructors work hard to provide the best experience they can.”

The silversneakers.com/instructorawards website will be accepting nominations from peers, students, fitness facility employees, and instructors themselves from now until March 17. The winner and finalist announcements will be made at the end of April after a SilverSneakers committee has reviewed the submissions. A special gathering will be organized in their honor, and the champion and four qualifiers will be featured on the website. Members of SilverSneakers have a nationwide network of approximately 22,000 exercise facilities as well as neighborhood amenities like parks and recreation centers. Strength training, cardio, meditation, and stress management are just a few of the activities that members can partake in during live, instructor-led, and on-demand virtual classes. These courses always offer more to the participants.

Through creative collaborations with GetSetUp, a digital learning forum, and Stitch, an offline and online social society for seniors, qualified participants in health care plans can encounter social activity and mental enrichment offerings. This enables older individuals to link virtually and in person. Currently, a small number of Medicare Beneficiaries, group retirement, and Medicare Supplement benefits make nearly 18 million Americans qualified for SilverSneakers for no extra cost to the member. Members of SilverSneakers can access numerous locations through their membership and stay active whenever and wherever they choose to work out by downloading a SilverSneakers® GO mobile app.
